Three ways to spend an afternoon

Workshops in your kitchen, workshops for your team, and flowers for weddings, celebrations and children's parties. Everything comes with me: stems, greenery, shears, vases, buckets, aprons. I set the table before we start and clear it all away when we finish.

At home, with your people

A private workshop in your kitchen or dining room. An evening with friends, a birthday, a baby shower, or no occasion at all. Everyone works at their own pace, and leaves with an arrangement of their own. I bring everything with me, so you can be a guest at your own table.

For your team

Flowers on the conference table, and a couple of hours that don't feel like work. Team building for offsites, client events and celebrations. I set up wherever you are, in your office or a space you've booked, teach as we go, and everyone takes their arrangement home at the end of the day.

Events & celebrations

A bloom bar your guests build their own bouquets from. Or mini bouquets ready to be picked up and carried off, or arrangements set before anyone arrives. At a venue, a market, a launch, a wedding or a children's party, scaled to the room and to the day.

How it works

Simple on your end

one

Tell me the date

Send a note with roughly when, roughly how many, and where. I'll come back with what's possible and what it costs.

two

I bring everything

Flowers, greenery, shears, vases, buckets, aprons, twine. You clear a table and, if you like, pour everyone a drink. That's the whole ask.

three

Everyone makes something

A few hours, at an easy pace. I teach as we go. Everyone ends up with an arrangement, and I clear everything away before I go.

Alba understood our vision immediately, offered beautifully curated ideas, then went to work with a joyful, playful, professional presence. It was a treat to have one less thing to worry about, and the outcome was truly stunning.

Sophie W, Cambridge

Hola! Let's do flowers.

I grew up in Spain, where stopping at the flower shop was part of the weekly shopping, somewhere between the panadería and the churrería. A few stems wrapped in paper, home in time for dinner. Flowers weren't saved for birthdays and anniversaries. They were simply how a house looked.

That's what I want to bring to your table. I arrive with the flowers, the vases, the shears and the aprons, and for the rest of the afternoon there's nothing on the agenda but the people in the room.

The part I love comes once everyone's hands are busy. People stop worrying about getting it right, the conversation loosens, and the room fills with the kind of talk you only get when nobody is reaching for a phone. The flowers are the excuse. The afternoon is the point.

You don't need any experience. Nobody has any at first. I teach as we go, and everyone surprises themselves.

Questions

Good to know

The workshop itself

Do I need any experience with flowers?

None at all. Most people arrive saying they are not creative and leave surprised by what they made. I teach as we go, at an easy pace, and I am beside you the whole time.

How long does a workshop take?

The workshop itself runs about 90 minutes. I arrive around an hour beforehand to set everything up, and I clear it all away afterwards, so the room looks the way it did before I arrived.

What is included?

Everything. Flowers, greenery, and a vase, shears and an apron for each guest, set at their place before anyone arrives. If you have a vase you love, bring it and we will build around it. What you make is yours to keep.

What do I need to have ready?

Very little. Clear a surface or two and, if you like, pour everyone a drink. A few smaller tables or work spaces work just as well as one big one, and outdoors is lovely in good weather, since I move between everyone as we go.

Can I choose the colors and the flowers?

Yes, within what the season is giving us. We talk beforehand about the colors you love and anything you would rather avoid, and I buy from local growers whenever I can, so the flowers arrive fresh and at their best.

Do you happen to speak Spanish?

¡Claro que sí! Spanish is my first language, born and raised in Spain. I am happy to teach the whole workshop in Spanish, in English, or in the Spanglish most groups drift into halfway through!

Who it is for, and where

How large a group can you take?

Around 25 guests is comfortable, and it is not a hard limit. For a larger group I bring help, so tell me the number you have in mind and we will make it work.

Can you come to an office?

Of course! It works just as it does at home: a conference room, a kitchen area, a terrace, whatever you have. A few tables or work spaces are all I need, and I bring the rest. Team workshops start at $2,500, plus tax. See our for your team section above.

Do you do children's parties?

Yes! Generally from about five or six years old, and I am flexible about it! Children take to flowers quickly. We keep the stems short, the vases sturdy and the pace lively.

How far do you travel?

Anywhere in Cambridge and Greater Boston. Anything within about 20 miles of Harvard Square is included, which covers Cambridge, Somerville, Boston, Brookline, Arlington, Belmont, Newton, Lexington, Winchester, Weston, Wellesley, Needham, Dover and Concord. Further out I am still happy to come, with a travel fee worked out for your address and quoted before you book, so there are no surprises.

Booking, payment and cancellations

How far in advance should I book?

A month ahead or more is best. I only take two or three workshops a month so that each one gets the flowers and the attention it deserves, and the good dates go early.

How does payment work for a workshop at home?

Two ways, whichever suits you. Either I send you a payment link that you pass straight to your guests and each one pays for their own seat, so there is nothing for you to collect or chase, or you pay for the whole group yourself in one go. Prices are plus Massachusetts sales tax.

How does payment work for a team workshop or an event?

Half up front to hold the date, and the balance on the day. Both are payable online, by card or bank transfer, whichever is easier for your finance team, and I am happy to send a W-9 or fill in a vendor form if that is what your process needs. Prices are plus Massachusetts sales tax.

What if one of my guests cannot come?

Up to a week before, their seat is refunded in full, no questions asked. After that their flowers are already on order, so the seat stays yours rather than being refunded, and it is very welcome to change hands. A friend turning up in their place is always a nice surprise.

What if I need to cancel?

Tell me as early as you can and I will sort it out with you. More than seven days ahead, everything paid comes back in full, whether that is a room of guests who each paid for a seat or a deposit for a team workshop. Inside the last week your flowers are already bought and cut for your date, so what has been paid covers them. Even then, I would far rather find you another date than keep money for a workshop that never happened.

Can I move the date?

Usually, yes. Tell me as early as you can and whatever has been paid moves with you to the new date, as long as I have it free. Once we are inside the last week the flowers are already on order, so a move at that point works like a fresh booking.

Anything I have not covered here, just send me a note and I will get back to you shortly.
